Internet Society Rwanda Chapter concludes Digital Parenting and Online Safety Training in Bugesera District.

The Internet Society Rwanda Chapter (ISOC Rwanda), in partnership with G.S Kibungo in Bugesera district, concluded a digital parenting and online safety training program on October 4, 2024. Rwanda hosted the first edition of the School on Internet Governance

The Rwanda School on Internet Governance (RW-SIG) 2024 was hosted over two days, from the 3rd to the 4th of September 2024, in Kigali, Rwanda under theme ” Building a Multi-stakeholder digital future”.

This event was hosted by the Internet Society Rwanda Chapter (ISOC Rwanda) in partnership with Rwanda Internet Community and Technology Alliance (RICTA) under Rwanda Internet Governance Forum Committee to provide a platform for key stakeholders including government officials, academics, industry professionals, civil society representatives, and youth to deepen their understanding on Internet Governance and build capacity needed to foster open dialogue around critical internet governance topics relevant to Rwanda. It brought together people from diverse sectors and backgrounds to acquire requisite knowledge to make a meaningful impact in the discussions on public policy issues pertaining to Internet Governance. 

The RW-SIG was officially concluded on 5th September 2024 during Rwanda Internet Governance Forum 2024 by providing certificates to all 50 fellows who attended the first edition.

RW-SIG is expected to be substantial in shaping Rwanda’s digital ecosystem and its role in the global internet governance landscape.

Safer Internet Day 2022 celebrations in Rwanda

On Tuesday, 8 February 2022 ISOC Rwanda Chapter through Rwanda Safer Internet Day Committee with Safer Internet Day (SID) supporters celebrated the 3rd edition of SID in Rwanda with a theme once again of “Together for a better internet”, the day called upon all stakeholders to join together to make the internet a safer and better place for  children and young people to learn and innovate.
