We seek to build empowered communities to use the Internet responsibly.
This was announced by Chairperson Emmanuel MFITUMUKIZA during Partners and Stakeholders’ engagement meeting held on 23rd December 2022 at Park Inn by Radisson Hotel.
During this meeting three programs were launched to support and promote development of internet as a global infrastructure and a resource to enrich people’s lives.
The three programs that were officially launched are Internet for Education program that aims at empowering teachers with digital skills that enable them to use computers and Internet in teaching and learning activities, Safer Internet Program that intends to promote a safe and positive use of digital technology, especially among children and young people. The third program, which is Connecting the Unconnected, aims at bridging the digital divide by providing computing devices and Internet connectivity in the unserved and underserved communities.
